The movie editing is really coming together! I'm really starting to have fun with this!
I bet you might be surprised about my sudden change in attitude. After all, almost every other day I have worked on the movie I didn't sound so relaxed.
Although there has been a lot of work to do on the movie, I re-realized as of tonight that it's not
ALL bad. I had enough stress progressing through my schoolwork today, and I knew I needed
to do something to relax. At first, I was uncertain
about working on my movie tonight... The movie in and of itself is FULL of uncertainty.
But by unwinding, watching TV with my parents, and clearing my mind, the creative juice in my head finally started to circulate again.
I don't know Perfect Sky's way of moviemaking, but if her way was to plan the story out and
THEN film, I'm doing the opposite. I filmed a whole mess of scenes I thought I would use and NOW I'm planning the story. ...It's crazy, I know. I don't even know where I am going! But That's the fun of it! Just using whatever you have to use and your resourcefulness doing the rest.
I can't deny it; it's hard to approach a creation this way. It's easy to anticipate what will happen next and that causes terrible stress and fear that you might mess everything up. Doing nothing until you can plan EVERYTHING is a natural reaction to these insecurities, but you can't always plan everything out. After all, nothing goes entirely as planned. I now know that if you can just let go and enjoy the process one step at a time, you can't go wrong. Somehow, some way or another, it's all gonna turn out alright in the end.
