Writing and Tossing the Chapters

Writer's picture: Invisible RingInvisible Ring

Sometimes, you can't figure out what chapter to write until you start writing.

That's what makes a movie so much like a book; it's sometimes not enough to erase and rewrite chapters. You might have to rip the chapters right outta yer book and start again!

As of tonight, I have several animations in the making, including the one in this picture. And the multiple animations reminded me of how many animations I used at the beginning of my FIRST pirate movie.

My 2nd pirate movie didn't have such a big beginning; I just jumped right into where I left off, and I now suspect that this is the reason why I got stuck. Without a proper beginning with a good summary/recap (like my FIRST pirate movie), I've put myself in danger of forgetting all the most important treasures I need for my second movie!

...I knew I had a lot of missing pieces when I had my first 3 movie chapters linked together and 2 or 3 other chapters that were scattered about; not knowing WHERE they would go in my movie.

This whole BOOK has been a mess! ...Which is why I'm tossing the book into my Archives collection and starting all over.

PS. I am perfectly content with that. With my new movie plans, it'll be faster (AND more fun) than fruitlessly struggling a couple MORE months with what I've got. Besides, I needed to RE-re-adjust Chapter 2 (of movie 2) anyway.

PPS: What about the soon-to-be-archived movie chapters I worked so hard on? They'll probably add to my list of Deleted Scenes, and the first chapter (the intro) could make a great movie trailer!

(It could even inspire me to make an even BETTER trailer later!)

...All for now. Must write down new movie plans before I forget!
