The Annual Problem...

...Is how to spend your summer... Even a short one. It's a little EXASPERATING how you're so ready for summer after your school year, but on the day it comes, you don't know what to DO with yourself!

Isn't it also funny when you make a short list of summer plans and then you just don't feel like doing them at first? It's even funnier when you don't even know where to start the stuff you DO feel like doing... like say, draw your 11th Poptropi-con issue!

Since the week I finished issue 10, I've been trying to figure out how to draw issue 11. It's already been 2 and a half months, and I've got over 30 pages of sketch notes, plus text notes on my phone... And I don't think it's gotten me anywhere either...

On the other hand, this scenario seems just like the scenario I once had with my dream island superchapter, chapter 5. It took me months, and a heck of a lot of notes, but it came out right eventually...

I guess that's all just the nature of the beast... That it's just hard at first to slow down and take the R and R you need. ...And when you can't come up with ideas for what to do for fun, or what you want to create at the beginning of summer... I'm starting to think that it just means your mind is all tired out from school.

..What then? ...Come to think of it, perhaps we should all just find a good place to just chill and let our minds unwind. Maybe go outside and look at the stars... Or just camp out in your room. Maybe even make a pillow fort! Just thinking about this stuff helps me unwind. It reminds me that somethines it's good to stop doing stuff and just think every now and then.
